Missy stumbled upon pole dancing in February 2004 and to say it completely changed her life is not an exaggeration! She developed from eager student to sought-after instructor and performer.
Missy was a national finalist in Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2008 and 2009 and awarded first runner up in the Australian Pole Dance Championships in 2009. Since then, Missy has been showcasing her pole style in various theatre shows, cabarets and festivals both locally and internationally. She is also the creator and performer of a one-woman circus show called Love, Loss and Lattes.
One of the things Missy loves about pole dancing is the ability to add your own personal style to the apparatus- whether that is contemporary, hip hop, tango, ballet or super sexy, there is room for all forms of self expression.
WHAT’S SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I have a Bachelor of Art Theory and History degree from UNSW.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE CLASS AT SYDNEY POLE?
All of them? Any class which I catch people singing along to the music!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG TO JAM OUT TO?
This is a hard question! A warm up jam is very different to a freestyle pole jam! Warm up would be anything upbeat by Duran Duran. For freestyle pole - I love searching for contemporary classical music.
WHO/WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL
If I say Diamond Dog does that mean I can be David Bowie?! He was an artistic genius in life and death.
