FIVE AWESOME THINGS ABOUT MORNING WORKOUTS

Sometimes it can be gruelling having that early morning alarm go off and you know you have to get your butt out of bed to work out. You hit snooze. You lay there, in that warm bed and think "Should I even bother?" It can be tough to motivate yourself to exercise at the best of times but there are some real benefits to getting up and working out first thing in the morning. Here are a few to think about while you're deliberating before that second snooze alarm goes off...

ARE YOU A SYDNEY POLE VIP?

At Sydney Pole, we are totally in love with you guys, so we decided we wanted to say a huuuuge thanks by kicking off a brand new loyalty program where you get all this free stuff! After completing a certain number of classes with us or through signing up to our Membership program, you earn a special VIP (Very Important Poler) status that gives you access to a range of awesome discounts and freebies! Those on a Membership program get invited to be VIPs automatically, otherwise just add up the hours you've done with us over the year, see what status you're at and come grab your goodies!

WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS? (WE WEAR SHORT SHORTS)

Ahhh, the short-short. The fashion staple of the committed pole dancer. While you can essentially get away with just wearing your undies, some of us prefer a little more coverage and booty support (and bike shorts are just that liiiitle bit too long)! We've compiled a list of a few of the best Pole Shorts available, in a few different shapes and styles!

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION SOLUTIONS

Here we are again, at the brand new start of a shiny new year! Full of hope, dreams and about a half kilo of that Christmas ham (dw, we'll pole that off). The start of a New Year always seems like the right time to remind ourselves of our goals and set resolutions to make healthier choices, do better work and quit all our bad habits. This is great - for a while at least, until a few weeks in, our well intentioned resolutions end up broken and abandoned, swirling into the abyss alongside our lost socks and old myspace accounts.

FAVOURITE SYDNEY PLACES: SYDNEY POLE

Sydney Pole is probably the only place I’ve ever been to where it’s totally ok to be butt-naked and have NSFW conversations in a totally relaxed environment, without anyone looking down upon anyone else. It’s more like a weird dysfunctional family than a fitness studio, where everyone encourages everyone else to come out of their shell more than just dance.

TIME TO BE TERRIBLE

Like lots of people I know, I loathe the feeling of being terrible at something. It swarms me with a glittering array of feelings ranging from inferiority & jealousy to stupidity and embarrassment and makes me less than inclined to face up to my ineptitude a second time around. We grown ups have all got so many talents and skills – many that have been developed and honed over years and years – that somewhere along the way we have forgotten what it’s like to start again from the very beginning.

STEPH'S VEGAN CHOC BROWNIES

Steph Seeto is Sydney Pole's resident baking goddess and with 1 hour free time (while her baby sleeps) she asks herself... "What can I make in a flash and not have to go out and buy ingredients like guar gum and tapioca flour only to use 1 teaspoon and have a huge bag leftover?

FRIDAY TEACHER FEATURE: ALLY

When you think neon scrunchies, skorts (skirt-shorts) and Sally Up Sally Down, only one of our amazing instructors could come to mind! Ally has been training at Sydney Pole since she started pole dancing, and is proud to call this studio her second home. She loves the diversity of pole dancing, and the freedom of expression it allows. She loves nothing more than seeing students in her class succeed and achieve something they never thought they could! We caught up with Ally and asked her about pole dancing, staying fit and what inspires her!

But it is in these dark times that we must unite to maintain our rigs and guns so we can keep feeling good about our bodies, clear our heads, and maintain kick-ass habits that help make it easier to deal with life.
